Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasrizal Bin Shaari

Dr. Hasrizal Bin Shaari is an Associate Professor of Marine Geoscience Program at the Faculty of Science Marine and Environment, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. He was conferred a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from the Hokkaido University, Hokkaido, Japan in 2013. Currently, he also holds an administrative duty at university level as Director of Centre of Research and Field Services. His area of specialization is mainly on marine geochemistry, organic and inorganic markers, and paleoenvironmental studies. The outcome of his research has been published in many index papers on marine and environmental studies at international and national level. His current research interest is in the study of underwater archeology which is one of the thrust areas at UMT. This tendency is in line with his 21 years of experience in scuba diving and his professional qualification as a Divemaster Scuba Diver. A professional qualification in scuba diving allows him to conduct scientific excavations at underwater archaeological of the Bidong Shipwreck. Based on his qualifications and abilities, the National Heritage Department (JWN) has granted an excavation permit at the Bidong Shipwreck site in 2022. Hasrizal is also a member of the Geological Society of Malaysia (GSM), the Geological Institute of Malaysia (IGM), and a Professional Geologist under the Board of Geologist Malaysia (BoG). He is also a part of Malaysian Archaeological Association (IKM) which is a registered archaeological association in Malaysia.

Dato’ Kamarul Redzuan Muhamed

Dato’ Kamarul Redzuan Muhamed is a respected business leader in
Malaysia, and he currently serves as the Group Managing Director of
Uzma Berhad, a leading oil and gas service provider in Malaysia. He
has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having
worked for several international companies, including Exxon, Smedvig
Technologies and Roxar before he founded Uzma in 2000 and took it
to IPO in 2008.

Dr. Nik Nurhalida Binti Nik Hariry

Dr. Nik Nurhalida Binti Nik Hariry is a Lecturer of Maritime Management Program at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). She was conferred a Ph.D in Maritime Studies in 2016, Master Degree in Integrated Coastal Zone Management in 2013 and Bachelor in Maritime Management in 2007 from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). Her area of specialization is mainly maritime archaeology, policy in underwater cultural heritage and heritage management. Her study focuses on policies governing underwater cultural heritage, such as shipwrecks and artifacts. She also has a scuba diving license and enjoys exploring the seas. Based on her qualifications, she now teaches Marine Salvage and Underwater Cultural Heritage to final-year Bachelor of Maritime Management students.

Dr Muhammad Hafeez Jeofry

Dr Muhammad Hafeez Jeofry is a Geoscientist, where his research interest is on geophysical hazards both in terrestrial and marine environments. He received his Doctor of Philosophy from Imperial College London in 2019, specializing in Earth Science and Engineering. Hafeez is a team player with multiple international and national levels collaboration, both in academia and industries. He employs different techniques and knowledge of geography, seismology, glaciology, and hydrodynamics to understand factors triggering the geomorphic instability such as the ice sheet and slope erosions. His works have been published in several high-impact journals such as Nature Geoscience, Nature Communications, Reviews of Geophysics, Earth System Science Data, Geological Society of London, and Bulletin of the Geological Society of Malaysia. He is currently serving as a Marine Geoscience lecturer at the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.
